TOUR NOTES |
-
First let me start out this month's notes by correcting a mistake I had made last month in improperly identifying the sponsor for out tour massage therapists. Kenny & Katie Askew will once again be on hand to take care of your aching muscles thanks to Rose Epperson and the West Coast Arborists!
- We are still working to finalize the arrival and shuttle plans but I can not over emphasize the importance of shipping your bike ahead of time per the instructions in the previous newsletter.
- Our host hotel in Chicago on Saturday July the 17th is the Doubletree Magnificent Mile for which I will provide a rooming list based on the information you provided when registering for the Tour.
- For those wishing to arrive early I have set up a block at a rate of $159 + tax for Friday July the 16th. You may reserve your room by calling (312) 787-6100 and identifying that you are a participant in the STIHL Tour des Trees or by going directly to their reservation page and putting in "TDT" as the group code
- The "Chicago Loop Tour" isn't exactly a loop but will instead finish in Naperville, the hometown of the TREE Fund, on Friday July the 23rd. Our host hotel in Naperville is the Holiday Inn Select.

AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH CHUCK LEAVELL |
|
|
Chuck Leavell, conservationist, Tree Farmer, and legendary keyboardist for the Rolling Stones, will perform at the Omni Chicago Hotel on July 17, 2010 to benefit the Tree Research and Education Endowment (TREE) Fund and the American Forest Foundation. David Spero, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Board of Directors and longtime friend of Leavell, will join Leavell for an evening of good food, great music and stories in the key of "green".
"The American Forest Foundation and the TREE Fund are extraordinary organizations working tirelessly to improve the care of trees and the environment," said Leavell. "I have a true passion for the conservation of our forests, and to be able to combine my love for the environment and my love for music for this event is such an honor."
